THE BMHA
BMHA is a self-help patient group set up to support those affected by Malignant Hyperthermia. It is a national registered charity run entirely by volunteers whose family has been affected by MH. Members of the Leeds MH Unit also serve on the management committee. BMHA helps fund research at the Leeds MH Investigation Unit and their associates - specifically genetic research. Administrative costs are kept to a bare minimum. Our Aims & Objectives are shown on an earlier page.
The BMHA exists to help people affected by MH. It was founded in 1982 by Alison Winks, following the death of her son John, due to MH. It was his 7th operation. He was 7 years old.
